About Gerda

Gerda van Hekesen-van Bruggen has extensive experience advising and litigating for governments, businesses and non-profit organisations on administrative law in the broadest sense, including environmental law, subsidy law, health law, education law and national and European media law.

Before joining Wieringa, she gained earlier experience in legal practice (Van Doorne), in the judiciary, and at the Commissariaat voor de Media, the regulatory authority overseeing public broadcasters and all commercial audiovisual media established in the Netherlands. At the Commissariaat, she held both a substantive role and a management position. She advised the board and the minister on legal, strategic and policy matters. She also regularly spoke at conferences both in the Netherlands and abroad. She is one of the few Dutch specialists in the field of public media law.

Gerda publishes regularly on a wide range of administrative law topics.
